EVALUATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH
GSI has a strong project management capacity for managing both long-term and short-term projects. Our core managerial strength lies in our thorough knowledge of the local setting as well as the development policies, processes and procedures of the major funding agencies in Uganda and the East African region. GSI Experts have been involved in the management, monitoring and evaluation of governance and service delivery projects and programmes in Uganda and other African Countries. GSI carries out program/project reviews (mid-term/final evaluations) and social economic studies and surveys for government and other development agencies.
GSI also conducts baseline studies to help in measuring output and outcome indicators for technical areas such as: Governance, Education, Food Security, Renewable energy, Water and Sanitation, Natural Resource Management, Health and Enterprise Development. GSI reviews all stages of program implementation, documenting best practices and lessons learned and formulating recommendations for improvement and future programming.
GSI work spans the realm of technical, governance, and cultural challenges facing REDD+ implementation, including social and environmental safeguards; sustainable carbon financing and payment for environmental services; multi-sectoral and low emission strategy development; and monitoring, reporting, and verification of carbon stocks.
